Victoria Don
Victoria Don joined the firm in January, 2010. She practices in the areas of international human rights law and civil rights law. She specializes in matters involving constitutional violations, plaintiff-side police misconduct, unlawful detentions, and Alien Tort Statute litigation against egregious international human rights violations such as torture, genocide, and slavery.
Ms. Don received her J.D. from the University of California School of Law, and her B.A. from Northwestern University, where she majored in Comparative Literature with a focus on Spanish and Chinese literature.
During her time at UCLA School of Law, Ms. Don co-chaired the Violence Against Women Act Clinic, which provides services to undocumented survivors of abuse and violent crimes. She was also selected to participate in the inaugural year of the UCLA International Justice Clinic, for which she co-authored Joint Criminal Enterprise and Command Responsibility: A Manual, prepared for the War Crimes Section of the State Court of Bosnia. She traveled to Sarajevo to work on war criminal prosecutions. Ms. Don was also the recipient of a Distinguished Advocate award in the UCLA Moot Court contest.
During law school, Ms. Don worked on international human rights cases, political asylum and deportation defense cases, hate crime and same-sex domestic violence issues, and legal advocacy for undocumented victims of domestic violence and violent crimes. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Don worked on plaintiff-side police abuse cases and amending the policies of corrupt police departments through litigation. Ms. Don speaks Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
