This week, SSHHZ, O’Melveny & Meyers, and UCI Law School filed a lawsuit seeking to enjoin the Orange County District Attorney’s  procedures concerning a private DNA database in which it indefinitely stores the DNA of over 182,000 people and counting.  The lawsuit alleges that the DA’s office coerces misdemeanor suspects, including ones unrepresented by counsel, into plea deals in order to store their DNA indefinitely in a private database. You can find the complaint HERE.
